- Transparency is lost. JPG has no alpha channel. Transparent areas of your PNG will render as solid black in the JPG, so only convert images that have no transparency — or are fine without it.
- Keep your PNG masters. Once converted to JPG, the extra data is gone forever. Archive the original PNGs before you convert, in case you ever need the lossless version again.
- Text-heavy screenshots. Small text on a flat background compresses poorly as JPG and can look fuzzy. For UI screenshots with lots of text, consider WebP instead.
